clara macy

Clara Macy eats, sleeps and drinks Ayurveda & Yoga. The life long obsession began in 1998, when she completed her 200-hour yoga certification. She then continued to study all over the world with top yogis, but uncovered something more. She learned that Ayurveda, the sister science to yoga was a huge component to proper lifestyle management, not just yoga. After many books and seminars later, she decided to apply for Ayurvedic practitioners’ program and began her life-long studies in Ayurveda through Kerala Ayurvedic Institute. Clara has taken the teachings of Ayurveda and integrated them into her yoga classes. She also offers Ayurvedic consultations and is a certified Ayurvedic Therapist.

EXPERIENCES

The sea

Sea of Cortez

Unique marine life has created a thriving ecosystem; smaller microorganisms attract the diverse small fish, which then attract larger gamefish. Between the waters themselves and the hundreds of islands within, the Sea of Cortez and nearby lagoon Magdalena Bay are active home, birthing, and nesting sites for a large number of marine mammals, birds, and fish, some of which you can only find here. Blue Whales, Humpback Whales, California Gray Whales, Orcas, Manta Ray, and Leatherback Sea Turtles migrate annually to the area, and it’s not unlikely to spot a Vaquina Porpoise speeding alongside your boat or kayak

Kayaking and SUP

Las Cruces provides a fleet of sea kayaks and stand up paddle boards guests can take exploring. These water toys are a great way to get up close and personal with the diverse and exciting sea life.

Whale Watching

Every year between late December and mid-March thousands of gray whales make their annual migration through the Pacific Ocean. It is a spectacular event. During these months it is possible to see these magnificent creatures and experience one of the world’s most memorable wildlife adventures.

The Land

Hiking

Naturalists from around the world are attracted to the area’s sheer diversity; desert flora and fauna, mangrove estuaries, and the coastal shorelines make up the intriguing terrain. The area provides nesting sites and migratory habitat for about 210 bird species and a number of endemic species, including the world's largest cactus, blacktailed jack rabbit, ground squirrel and a variety of reptiles. Valleys covered in the thousands of desert plant varieties lead to ravines and streambeds, the site of primitive cave and gorge paintings and carvings.

The unique alluvial plains, dramatic cliffs, and waterside wonders make Azul de Cortez and the Baja peninsula a flourishing tropical ecosystem. Explore10,000 acres of private, pristine coastline, breathtaking trails, and mountain pools.
